Wonderful Wednesday

It's that time of year again - tea time. I drink coffee every morning all year, but when the weather starts turning colder I love an afternoon cup of tea. So I did an Etsy search for teapots to get an idea of what is out there. There are hundreds of wonderful pots, but this way by far my favorite. According to the description this pot was inspired by a trip to France. Take a peek at lawatson's shop for more fabulous, funky finds.

Etsy Bloggers Treasury

I haven't made a treasury in a very long time. I finally snagged one in Treasury West and thought I would make one that showed my love of blue, my love of jewelry and my love of my new team - EtsyBloggers. You can find it here for a few days if you would like to click and comment.

Wonderful Wednesday

I love wood, especially when different kinds/colors are used together. That is why I love these books made by Postindustrialist. Wouldn't they make a great Christmas gift?

Please visit her shop to read more about how she makes these fantastic works of art.

Family Hike at Bear Mountain

Last weekend we went on a family hike to Bear Mountain State Park in New York. With 6 adults and 7 children ranging in age from 10 to 16 we set off on a 3.8 mile hike. You would think that with 13 fairly intelligent people this would be no problem. But, 4 hours and many, many miles later we finally made it back to the parking lot - in a completely different place then the map indicated. It was a beautiful sunny 65 degree Fall day with not a cloud in the sky - we had a great time!

Wonderful Wednesday

A few weeks ago I posted a find that reminded me of my black cat, Stormy. I don't want to play favorites, so this week I went looking for something that represented Emma, my tabby. I found this cute candle holder in memekiwii's shop. Her tag line is "Funky Folk Art Pottery + Whimsical Art Works" and that is exactly what you will find here.

Survival of the Fittest

My husband came in through the front door and called us to come out and see the Praying Mantis on the door frame. I hadn't seen one in a very long time and ran to get my camera.

The next morning as we were heading out my son noticed that the Praying Mantis was still there - this time enjoying its breakfast. Poor Daddy Long Legs!

Wonderful Wednesday

Earlier in the week as I was reading a forum thread I came across an avatar and shop name that piqued my interest. I visited the shop and was delighted in what I found. So this week's Wonderful Wednesday find is Butt Freckle. Here you will find the most adorable little plushies that I have ever seen. Just when I think I have chosen a favorite I find another. Below are just a few - check out the shop for yourself and pick your favorite and while you are there be sure to read the story behind them.

My Other Job

The Etsy Bloggers team been given the assignment to post about their job when not on Etsy.

I was a stay at home Mom for 16 years when I decided to return to the workforce part time. I found a job that I love. I work in a gourmet chocolate and gift shop.
The store that I work in is family owned and they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I also work with another mom my age and a retired woman. Later in the day some college and highschool girls come in.

The store itself is in a very large old house. The front of the store contains tons of candy and gourmet food. The room in the back is the Vera Bradley room. Upstairs you will find Life Is Good apparel, pewter, ceramic, baby items, candles and lotion.

Our customers are great and a lot of fun. I couldn't have asked for a better re-entry into the workforce.

October's Featured Etsyblogger

This month the Etsy Bloggers Street Team has chosen bfbeads , also known as Jen from Baby Friendly Beads. Jen makes beautiful single strand nursing necklaces that are adjustable and don't require a clasp. Check out Jen's shop and you will find a wide variety of styles and colors along with nursing reminder bracelets.

The photo above shows her Custom Birthstone Baby Friendly Beads Nursing Necklace (3 stone design). This is a one of a kind necklace that features Mom's birthstone and the stones of other children or family members. Give Jen a visit - you won't be disappointed.

I've Been Tagged

So I joined the Etsy Bloggers Street Team and my very first day I was tagged by 2 different members. First by Manderlyrose and an hour later by HumanTouchDesigns.

I was hoping that joining the team would encourage me to be more active with my blog and it sure is.

Since I've been tagged I'm supposed to tell you 6 things about myself that most people don't know and then tag 5 other people. So, here we go:

1. I can write in script so it looks like you're looking in a mirror without even trying.

2. I love looking at office supplies and storage bins and such.

3. I can play classical guitar, but haven't had time to really do it since I had my kids.

4. When I was growing up my family used to make fun of me and call me a miser. It's a joke in my family that I would come back from vacation with more money then I went with.

5. It's very, very hard for me to buy things that aren't on sale or without a coupon even if I have the money for it. (see #4)

6. I hate calling people on the telephone, but if you call me I'd have no problem yakking away with you for hour.

Now I would like to tag:

Leakymouth
Molly S
Littlepaperdog
